Tinder finally has a new CEO (and it’s a good choice)
By Alexandre (admin), last updated on January 15, 2024A recent announcement marks an important turning point for popular dating app Tinder. Match Group has officially appointed Faye Iosotaluno as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tinder, effective immediately. This decision underlines the Group’s ongoing commitment to innovation and strategic growth for the Tinder app.
Faye Iosotaluno, who has over six years’ experience with Match Group, most recently held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Tinder. She will continue to report to Bernard Kim, Match Group CEO.
This appointment follows the departure of former Tinder CEO Renate Nyborg, who stepped down in 2022 after less than a year in the role, following disappointing financial results. Bernard Kim had assumed the role of interim CEO until the recent appointment of Iosotaluno.
During her time at Match Group, Iosotaluno took on several key roles, including Chief Strategy Officer. She distinguished herself through her ability to manage global strategy, consumer experience and business development, bringing an innovative and effective eye to the operations of Tinder and other Match Group entities.
Bernard Kim, CEO of Match Group, expressed complete confidence in Iosotaluno’s ability to lead Tinder to new heights. He emphasized her deep understanding of the dating industry and her exceptional leadership skills, anticipating that under her leadership, Tinder will continue to dominate the market.
In our opinion, Faye Iosotaluno seems the ideal choice to lead Tinder to new horizons. While former CEO Renate Nyborg missed the mark by making criticized decisions such as the launch of a virtual currency, a has-been concept that has now disappeared, it’s to the new CEO that we probably owe the series of successful new features: new interface, profile quiz, improved reporting system, the matchmaker or the policy of recent price increases.
